So, What Can I Tell You?

The new book, This Is Where I Leave You is coming out on August 6th.  The book tour is coming together now; Boston, San Francisco, Chicago, Portland, Seattle, New York, Atlanta, Tampa, and so on. All the information will be posted on the website.  Currently, I'm writing a screenplay for Fox 2000; a remake of the play Harvey, written in 1945, by Mary Chase.  It's a brilliant play that was turned into an iconic movie in 1950, starring Jimmy Stewart.  It's about a man whose best friend is a six and a half foot tall invisible white rabbit named Harvey.  My job is to write a contemporary version for Fox. I'm currently writing the second draft.  If the first draft is like giving birth, the second draft is putting it through college.  I'm also adapting This Is Where I Leave You for Warner Bros., who were nice enough to option the book and hire me to adapt it. And somewhere in there, I have to start a new novel.

Okay, that's enough.  I'll be back when I have something to say.

BTW  I'm on Twitter now (www.twitter.com/jtropper).  I'm not sure why.

I was really impressed with the clarity in which you portrayed your widower in the book how to talk to a widow, the vagueness, lack of interest, the issues of grief were dead on (no pun). Then I just read the book of Joe and again you can definitely tell that you know grief, the pregrief, the I'm left behind grief and how are you supposed to keep going afterward part, used well toget the living to engage back into life, as a backdrop for the dropouts Thanks, Are you a widowor griever? and your voice is clear and young ever thought about a tweens series?
